A climate-advocacy group is launching a $200,000 outreach campaign to educate voters on the Arizona Corporation Commission.
According to a poll funded by Chispa Arizona, a majority of Latino voters are unfamiliar with what the state utility regulator does. Chispa has previously spent millions of dollars supporting Democratic commission candidates.
Nuvia Enriquez is a spokesperson for Chispa.
"The Corporation Commission has a lot of power over decisions that are made that affect us very directly. And so it's important that all of us become aware of what they do and the actions that they take," Enriquez said.
The outreach campaign will include advertisements as well as art contests pushing for commission accountability.
