University of Arizona biomedical engineer Kaveh Laksari is building on the auto industry's studies on brain injuries from vehicle accidents. He is investigating how impacts cause injuries to the soft tissue of the brain inside the skull. Laksari promotes using tiny sensors in mouth guards to detect potential injuries from sports concussions, backing up a doctor's on-field diagnosis.
Kaveh Laksari spoke to Leslie Tolbert, Ph.D Professor Emerita in Neuroscience at the University of Arizona.
