Admission to Saguaro National Park and, in fact, all of the country’s 412 sites is free through Sunday, Aug. 28.
According to a press release, the idea is to encourage all people to enjoy the nation’s "history, legacy and stunning beauty."
Throughout 2016 the Park Service has been trying to attract people who haven’t visited the nation’s parks – youth in particular – to inspire the next generation of park stewards.
Although park entrance is free, additional user fees like camping permit fees are still in effect.
